“This unique summer gathering will appeal to seasoned artists, community organizers and those new to the field as well. By getting out in the city and seeing some of the rich examples of socially-engaged art happening here, hearing presentations by leading authors, curators and artists – there will be many points of entry. In/Out is a chance to critically reflect, to celebrate and to learn together while building a network to sustain the conversation into the future. The emphasis on time commitment is a way to drill down into one of the fundamental characteristics that distinguishes much of this work in the era of ‘pop-up’ culture – making commitments of time to people and places through artistic engagement,” Daniel Tucker, Graduate Program Director for Moore’s Social & Studio Practice Program.  Tucker along with Paul Farber, Ph.D., a Postdoctoral Writing Fellow at Haverford College, are the co-conveners for “In/Out.”
